Thick & Tight presented Night Suites in the Winters of 2021 and 2022 at the Paul Hamlyn Hall, Royal Opera House for family audiences. The piece was specially commissioned by the Royal Opera House; to respond to The Nutcracker and create a work designed for family audiences, especially young children.

 

The piece takes inspiration from stories by E.T.A Hoffmann, the author of Gothic fantasies such as The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, The Sandman and the inspiration for the ballet Coppelia. Night Suites takes the audience on a journey through a suite of different dreams, conjured by a dream-creature who is playful, mischievous, shape shifting and altogether magical.
